Most things I create in my studio are definitely inspired by my kids. Either because I watch them playing and get inspired to do a new illustration or because I see I can contribute to boosting their imagination by creating something new that they can play with. This was the case of the Story Cubes and the Woodland Animals Cootie Catchers, for instance, and they still play with them regularly.
Only when I see that my kids love them, I make them available on my store, so YOUR kids can also have fun with them!
A couple of months ago I started telling my kids the Nutcracker story and since then, they keep asking me to tell it over and over again. So, one day, I surprised them by creating and showing up with these Nutcracker Cootie Catchers! They were thrilled and started acting out as they heard the story. Now that the Christmas season is approaching (yay!), they’ll sure play more and more with them and even be able to recreate the story as they like.
They are available on my store and they include so many fun things! Just allow your kids plenty of time to make them before Christmas, since there’s a lot of cutting and folding before they really start playing with the cootie catchers. It can be a fun activity for the whole family while having some hot chocolate! 🙂
What is included in the 10 page PDF file:
– A short version of the story for you to read out loud, so the children can act out as they hear it
– A 3D paper Christmas tree
– 8 Cootie Catchers: Clara, Uncle Drosselmeyer, Fritz, Wooden Nutcracker Doll, Nutcracker, Mouse King, Nutcracker Prince and Ballerina
– The instructions on how to cut and fold the origamis
