I’m originally from Brazil (Belo Horizonte), but I currently live with my husband and 2 children nearby Vancouver, Canada. I share more of my story here.
Yes, I worked for 5 years as a Geologist. That’s how I ended up living in several places around the world. During those 5 years I got to meet many cool people, I’ve made great friends, met my husband (who is also a geologist), learned a lot of super interesting things about our planet and of course, managed to pile up every place I got to live with rocks. But even after such a great experience, I have never been so happy as now, being a children’s illustrator.
Yes, but for less than a year, 15 years ago (wow, time flies!), before I went to Geology School. By that time my artwork had a totally different style, as I used to do realistic drawings. Most of the things I know now comes from lots of searching and practising, all by myself and inspired by my kids and their universe. Read more here.
I actually don’t balance it very well and that is the reason I haven’t accepted any commissions lately, as my kids still demand a lot of attention and are still my priority.
Thanks for supporting my work! You can purchase items on my Esty Shop.
Yes! If you see a piece you love but you want a different hair colour, please convo me and I’ll make my best to accommodate you.
All my prints are done using archival inks and archival paper that make the colours very vivid. I currently use Epson Ultra Premium Presentation Archival Paper (Matte) and my printer is an Epson R1900. For posters I use the local print shop, where they use a special thick porter paper.
I ship from Canada worldwide. My rates are US$3.50 to Canada, $5 to US, $12 to Australia and $8.50 everywhere else and include shipping, handling and packaging costs.
I use regular airmail with tracking number only within Canada. For international shipping the costs are too high to include a tracking number and they only give you the location while the package is in Canada, not after it leaves it. Shipping to Canada or US usually takes 3 to 7 days, other locations 7 to 14 business days, but it can take up to 4 weeks because of random custom controls. If you would like your package to be rushed, please contact me and I’ll send you a separate PayPal invoice with the additional costs.
The small sizes (8.5 x 11 and 11 x 14) come in a protective celophane sleeve in a bend-proof mailer and the bigger sizes come carefully rolled in a fat mailing tube.
In the event you’ve received a damaged item, please contact me right away. I will happily replace the same item after you send back the item to me. You will be responsible for the shipping costs of returning the item and I will reship the item at my cost. Customer satisfaction is the number one priority for me! Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any concerns you may have. I want you to love your new artwork, and appreciate the opportunity to correct any problems/mistakes prior to receiving feedback.
Sorry, but not right now. When I do, it’s very simple though: just email me good pictures of your child, tell me what you want and a little bit about your chid’s personality. The first thing I’ll do is a sketch, so you can review it before I digitize and colour in. Once I finish it, I’ll send the final art to your email, so you can download and print it as you like. Learn more about my illustration process here.
In general all my artwork if for personal use only, but sometimes I do some commercial work too. If you’re interested in an illustration for your company, please, contact me to get a quote.
I used to do both, but I’ve decided to focus only on children from now on, as that’s what really inspires me.
